History of Russian Fire and forget ATGMs

History of Russian Fire And Forget ATGMs

The first Soviet fire and forget ATGM was the 9P149R ATGM Carrier in the mid 80s which utilised radar guided ACLOS with Konkurs-R Missiles with an automatic target tracking system in the Missile.

Vikhr-1 made in 90s utilises an automatic target tracker in launcher with autonomous missiles allowing F&F and would be the first mass produced 4th Generation ATGM for Russia.

There is the Khrizantema in late 90s for ground vehicles and aircraft which uses radar guided ACLOS with a back up radar and INS.

There is the Kornet-EM for vehicles and troops made in 2000s which utilised an automatic target tracker with a probable IOG allowing F&F.

There is the LMUR Prototypes in early 2000s that evolved into Kh-39.

There is the Hermes missile in 2010s for ground vehicle and aircraft which use laser beam riding with a back up radar homing.

There is the Kh-39 in late 2010s for attack helicopters which use infrared homing and are fully fire and forget with MITL technology and 3rd Generation Microbolometers.

Kh-BPLA which uses IIR homing and is fully fire and forget, utilised in the early 2020s.

Myths about the Su-57

Truth about the Su-57 Felon Introduction   Okay I'm going to dispel the myth that the Su-57 isn't stealth or 5th gen. There are several parts.  Intro F-117 Incident  Stealth Technology  Top 24 Myths about Felon RCS Numbers  F22 & F35 Vs Su-57  Weaknesses of Stealth Aircraft  Conclusion  This is based on over 30 hours of research, as well as several different scattering simulations.  Sources are tied to each part instead of listed at end.  F-117 Incident The minimum RCS the SNR-125M fire control radar can lock on relative to the RCS minimum of F-117, which was 0.2m² minimum required for lock on at any distance and RCS minimum of 0.005m² means its average was likely several decimal points higher. Of Course we take into account this was old stealth technology and the fact it had cueing from P-18.  It was detected because the RCS whilst having a minimum of ~0.005m², based on the fact it's an older design and current radar sim...
